Cutting Across Continents: Joint Session with ASRS and the Pan-American Retina and Vitreous Society
This webinar was held on June 26, 2024 and featured expert international faculty who covered a variety of topics including autologous plasma as adjuvant to pars plana vitrectomy in the treatment of macular holes, pneumatic vitreolysis for vitreomacular traction syndrome, macular hole with retinal detachment in high myopic eyes, refractive retina: techniques in secondary IOLs, and limited membranectomy for tractional retinal detachment.
Joint Session on Surgical Cases With the ASRS and the Vitreoretinal Society of India
The webinar held May 22, 2024 covered surgical management of diabetic tractional retinal detachments; Fibrin Glue to successfully close retinal breaks in complex retinal detachments; endoscopy in retinal surgeries; IOFB management; dealing with difficult posterior hyaloid and PVR membrane dissection.

Topics included: Tips for Encircling & Buckling, Principles and Tips for Removal of Scleral Buckles, Surgical Management for Infectious Uveitis, Transitioning Your Practice to the Novel Heads-up VRS, and Surgery for Large Ciliary Body Tumor with Ab-externo Excision.

On March 13, 2024, as part of the Intercontinental Series, moderators Sunir Garg, MD, FASRS, ASRS international affairs chair, and Yodpong Chantarasorn, MD, Asia/Pacific, ASRS international liaison, hosted a lively discussion on retinal management and treatments by renowned experts from East Asia and the United States. Topics included: diabetic vitrectomy, submacular hemorrhage management, suprachoroidal hemorrhage management, surgery for myopic traction maculopathy, and familiarizing macular buckling using common silicone elements.
Management of Diabetic Retinopathy: DME and PDR in the Middle East and Africa
The ASRS International Affairs Committee, along with the Nigerian Vitreoretinal Society and the Arab African Society of Retina Specialists, hosted 'Management of Diabetic Retinopathy: DME and PDR in the Middle East and Africa' on October 25, 2023. Listen in as experts from Africa and the Middle East discuss treatments for diabetic macular edema and proliferative diabetic retinopathy.
Fixing Challenging Retinal Detachments From Across the Western Hemisphere
This international webinar, sponsored by the ASRS in conjunction with the Mexican Retina Association, Canadian Retina Society, and Pan-American Retina & Vitreous Society, was held on May 2, 2023. The event was moderated by Sunir J. Garg, MD, FACS, FASRS. Presenters included, Nina Berrocal, MD, FASRS, Gerardo Garcia-Aguirre, MD, Lihteh Wu, MD, and Rajeev H. Muni, MD, MSC, FRCS(C), FASRS.
