Fellows-in-Training Section

The Fellow-in-Training (FIT) Section includes all ASRS Fellow-in-Training members and International Fellow-in-Training members. The Section is led by two co-chairs and provides fellows with networking, research, and learning opportunities to enhance their training experience.

Vitreoretinal Fellowship Reading List 

ASRS's Fellowship Training & Education Committee has compiled medical and surgical reading lists offering 'must read' retina papers by topic -- both current and classic. FIT members have access to these lists, as well as PDF downloads of the articles. 


Journal Club

ASRS’s Fellowship Training and Education Committee is offering a journal club to vitreoretinal fellow members on a semi-annual basis. In conjunction with ASRS fellow representatives, prestigious authors will review current and classic articles about a variety of topics. The expert discussant will summarize the historical perspective of classic papers and highlight how recommendations in more recent publications guide the treatment of patients in practice today. The interactive format will allow participants to submit virtual questions to the moderators in real-time.


Teaching Webinars for Fellows

ASRS’s Fellowship Training and Education Committee is offering a series of webinars geared toward vitreoretinal fellows. With national leaders in education leading instruction, these teaching webinars will feature less common disorders in an effort to supplement your fellowship training curriculum.


Wills Eye Center: Bi-Weekly Imaging Conference Series

Fellows are invited to register to attend educational webinars hosted by the Wills Eye Center  at 6:45 AM (EDT) every-other Wednesday.The webinars are part of Wills' bi-weekly Retina Imaging Conference series, offering interactive forums where the Wills Eye retina fellows present multimodal imaging of interesting cases and management dilemmas to the attendings of the Wills Retina Service and Wills Eye Hospital. 


Early Career Section Mentoring Program 

The ECS now offers Fellow-in-Training and Early Career Section members the opportunity to connect with more seasoned ASRS members and hopefully build
