The Empowerment and Opportunity Section works to increase representation and amplify the voices of individuals who are underrepresented in medicine (URiM) within the field of retina. It provides mentorship opportunities and educational opportunities for URiM members. Resources include the Empowerment and Opportunity Mentoring Program, a Retina Times article series, and a monthly newsletter.
