The ASRS Empowerment and Opportunity Section is working to increase the representation and amplify the voices of individuals that are Underrepresented in Medicine (URiM) within the field of retina. To that end, the section runs the Empowerment and Opportunity Mentoring Program, undertakes research exploring health equity issues, and creates educational materials for the ASRS membership.
