Administration Releases Rule to Help Address COVID-19 Patient Surge
On Monday, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) announced new flexible Medicare policies to help physicians and hospitals during the COVID-19 pandemic, including expanded telehealth services that can be billed at the same rate as in-person visits for both new and established patients, coverage of telephone for some services, and greater clarity on the use of remote patient monitoring for acute and chronic conditions.
ASRS will provide updated Telehealth Guidelines and further details on other new policies in the next few days.
