The latest data on intravitreal injection indications, contraindications, and safety will be reviewed in depth. Emphasis will be paid to various intravitreal injection preparation techniques, especially with respect to anesthesia choices and antimicrobial prophylaxis techniques. Considerations with respect to intravitreal injection logistics (e.g., timing, treatment paradigms, and setting up an injection clinic) will also be discussed. The attendee will become familiar with the process and implications of obtaining injectable medications from compounding pharmacies.
