Highland Retina Associates is a retina only, physician-owned practice seeking to add a new full-time surgical retina specialist. Our office is fully equipped with top-notch equipment and retina focused EMR. The ASC is equipped with both Constellation vitrectomy machine and Zeiss microscope with Resight. This position is for a fellowship trained, board eligible/certified, ethical surgical retina specialist who is seeking a non-private equity partnership track position and values his/her independence and teamwork. This is a wonderful opportunity for a hard-working, personable candidate who has interest in participating in clinical trials. This position will fill the need for an additional retina specialist due to company growth. Our company is growing fast so the new associate will start practicing in our 13,500-square-fo ot brand-new office that is currently being built.
We are within an hour distance from an international airport and within reasonable driving distance of several other major cities. Terre Haute metropolitan area has a population of 170,000 and is located on the west side of Indiana on the edge of the Illinois state. Terre Haute is a family-oriented city with a strong public-school system as well as several major universities. The cost of living is much lower than the national average with several opportunities to live within a beautiful subdivision or just outside the city limits. You will have the opportunity to experience all four seasons, but fall is particularly a special time in our area. There is an abundance of family activities, corn mazes, pumpkin patches, and apple orchards to visit in the fall, but The Covered Bridge Festival is a favorite for thousands of people every year. If you enjoy being outside and hiking, Terre Haute and the surrounding areas do not lack opportunities for outdoor adventures. Additionally, Indiana has a strong Tort reform which allows you to practice medicine without a litigious culture.
This position offers guaranteed base salary up to $400,000 based on qualification with a competitive production bonus starting immediately, signing bonus, relocation allowance and full generous benefits. The anticipated first year income with signing and production bonus could be up to $500,000 or more.
Highland Retina Associates has a mature referral pattern that will assure the new surgeon long term growth and success. After 2 years of employment, the physician will become eligible for a reasonable partnership in all revenue streams including the medical practice as well as research and real estate in the future. Call is restricted to the practice with no hospital call and will be shared equally among physicians. HD Retina is seeking a BC/BE vitreoretinal surgeon who would like to work in a premier practice with excellent work life balance, low cost of living, and numerous recreational and cultural opportunities.
The new associate would assume a full clinical and surgical caseload from the outset. It is anticipated that the new associate would be on a partnership track. There are no plans to sell to private equity.

The Retina Institute in St. Louis is seeking an additional well-trained BC/BE ophthalmologist with subspecialty training in vitreoretinal diseases. Specialty interests in uveitis and/or inherited retinal disease is desired. Qualified individuals will be offered a competitive starting salary commensurate with their experience along with an incentive bonus. TRI is a tertiary referral center providing the full spectrum of retinal care. Seventeen fully staffed/equipped offices are located in and around the greater metropolitan area of St. Louis. Travel to distant offices will be required at least once weekly. All surgery is done locally in hospital-based and ambulatory surgery centers. Successful applicants must be personable, flexible, loyal, and act with professional integrity. Patient care is the number one priority and requires excellent communication skills, cultivation of referring doctor relationships, adherence to compliance measures, promotion of an atmosphere of unity and collaboration, and maintenance of the highest ethical standards. The applicant must also enjoy the educational component of an academically-inclined private practice. The Retina Institute maintains a 2-year fellowship program and is also a primary focus of our practice. Two fellows are accepted each year through SF Match and the new associate is expected to be fully engaged with their training through participation in conferences, as well as mentorship in the clinics, operating room, and research. In addition, TRI hosts two annual meetings for the regional eye care community. Participation in clinical trials is expected. Administrative support for the pursuit of original research is available through our study department. Research funding from the Retina Research and Development Foundation is available pending board review.

Macula Vitreous Retina Physicians & Surgeons (MVRPS) is the thriving solo practice of Dr. Carvounis and is seeking a part-time or full-time associate. Dr. Carvounis currently sees 130-190 patients per week and typically performs 8-14 vitrectomies/buckles per week. Dr. Carvounis had served on the full-time faculty at Baylor College of Medicine (including as retina fellowship program director) for a decade, still trains residents and fellows at UTMB and teaches or has taught courses at the annual meeting of the AAO, ASRS, etc. MVRPS recently started participating in multicenter clinical trials and is planning on expanding its clinical research. MVRPS has a well-equipped office in the Texas Medical Center and 1 satellite location- the associate would be expected to work in the main location 4 days a week and at a satellite location 1 da y a week.
A suitable candidate should be c linically and surgically well-trained, have impeccable patient manners, a professional attitude towards staff and a strong work ethic. An interest in clinical research and fluent knowledge of Spanish would be advantageous.
Base salary 10-20% above typical Houston market initial salary with very generous incentive pay.
