Silicone Oil InstillationDr. Sunir Garg of Wills Eye Hospital demonstrates his technique for instilling silicone oil after retinal detachment repair using widefield viewing. Care is taken to vent remaining air pockets. A good silicone oil fill is then achieved in a controlled approach by allowing oil to come up through the infusion line before increasing the infusion pressure and causing retrograde flow of oil back into the eye. |
