Joan W. Miller, MD

Joan Whitten Miller, MD, Henry Willard Williams Professor of Ophthalmology and Chair of Ophthalmology at Harvard Medical School, and Chief of Ophthalmology at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary and Massachusetts General Hospital, has been elected to the Academia Ophthalmologica Internationalis (AOI). 

The AOI is regarded as the most prestigious international academic organization in ophthalmology with an emeritus and active membership that spans 33 countries. Dr. Miller is only the second American woman to be elected to the 38-year-old organization, which limits active membership to 70 individuals.
