Observership and Training Opportunities

The following opportunities are available for ASRS members who would like to observe  and train at other retina practices to further their knowledge, as well as for members who would like to host an observership. Opportunties are available to both  international members and US members who are interested in visiting international practices.

Interested in hosting or applying for an observership?

If you wish to host an observership/training opportunity or apply to participate in one simply complete the online form or contact International Affairs Committee Staff Liaison Caroline Bozell at caroline.bozell@asrs.org for more information. Listings are categorized into US and global opportunities. Please direct any questions to the contacts for each posting rather than to the ASRS office.

Interested in a global virtual observership?

Are you interested in an opportunity to connect with colleagues around the world but don't have the time or the means to travel? Why not try a virtual observership?

The International Affairs Committee is pleased to offer the Retina Exchange, an online networking and mentoring program designed to help connect ASRS members around the world for virtual learning and information sharing.

Please complete the form within the information link below to be considered for an online mentoring exchange. If we are able to match you with another member with similar interests we will connect the two of you. Once the connection is made, it is  the responsibility of the pair to work out the details of the virtual observership.

Learn more about the Retina Exchange Program and connect with colleagues from around the world today.

I just finished my residency in ophthalmology. I am from the United Arab Emirates ( UAE) and am really interested in vitreoretinal surgery as a subspecialization. I have taken the USMLE exams step 1 and 2 and am planning to do step 3 soon. I am looking  for a fellowship. Fortunately, I will be fully sponsored by my country.
