Description
As patient assistance programs (PAPs) shrink or disappear, retina specialists and their teams are left to navigate difficult conversations and complex care decisions without the financial safety nets many patients rely on. This session will offer practical guidance and peer-driven insights for managing these challenges.
Panelists will cover:
- Strategies for supporting patients when affordability becomes a barrier to medication adherence (e.g. data management)
- How to have compassionate, effective conversations about cost and access (e.g. examples of scripts and template letters)
- What’s working—and what isn’t—in real-world practice
- Workflow changes that help identify and support at-risk patients (e.g. reminder calls, etc.)
- Additional practical tips, tools, and creative solutions from the field
