Please join us on Monday, October 13 at 7:00 PM (CT) for an ASRS member Town Hall Meeting on recent Medicare guidance addressing office visits billed with a Modifier -25 on the same day as an intravitreal injection.
Following an HHS Office of Inspector General (OIG) recommendation asking that CMS provide clearer guidance on the definition of separately identifiable services and when office visits may be billed in conjunction with injections, CMS updated its Medicare Learning Network booklet on E/M. Unfortunately, the guidance is unclear and inconsistent with existing Modifier -25 guidance. ASRS, AAO and AMA have requested a meeting with CMS to seek clarification on the guidance.
Don't miss our Town Hall event moderated by ASRS Practice Management Committee Chairman Ankoor Shah, MD, FASRS, where Kirk Mack, Elizabeth Cifers and Joy Woodke will provide an overview of recent OIG and CMS activity related to Modifier -25, review the new guidance and share valuable perspectives on what it all means. Attendees will also gain valuable tips from leading health care attorney Allison Shuren, JD, partner with Arnold & Porter on what to do if they are audited. The session will be highly interactive with plenty of time for questions.
