Provider Relief Fund Portal Now Open for Registration; Full Reporting Delayed
On Friday, January 15, HHS opened its reporting portal for the CARES Act Provider Relief Fund (PRF) as scheduled. However, recipients are only able to register in the system and cannot yet report uses of the funds or lost revenues due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
HHS recommends that recipients register as soon as possible and notes it will send an email notification to registrants when the portal is open for reporting. HHS has not indicated whether it will extend the deadline to submit a report beyond the previously announced February 15, 2021 deadline or when the system will begin accepting reports.
To assist recipients register in the portal, HHS released: a user guide and FAQs.
As a reminder, any recipient of at least $10,000 from the PRF is required to submit a report on the use of the funds. Funds may be used to cover un-reimbursed expenses related to the pandemic or lost revenue. The first report covers the period from the date of receipt to December 31, 2020. If a recipient still has unused funds after December 31, 2020, they must expend them by June 30, 2021 and submit a final report by July 31, 2021.
