WinR CTI Webinar: A Case Study in Clinical Trials
1/22/2024 7:30 pm – 8:30 pm
Instructors
Erin C. Henry, PhD, Nancy M. Holekamp, MD
Description
This webinar will be a fascinating conversation between an experienced drug developer and an experienced research clinician, focusing on case studies in Retina Clinical Trials. Successful drug development requires partnering with motivated research clinicians - their advice, insights, and participation in clinical trials is absolutely critical to addressing unmet medical needs and bringing new tools and treatments to patients. Presenters will touch on best practices for clinicians that want to get involved in clinical research and some considerations for how to ensure that the experience is positive and valuable for all parties.

Nancy M. Holekamp, MD is a vitreoretinal surgeon. She was recently Director of Retina Services at the Pepose Vision Institute in St. Louis, Missouri and prior to that a Professor of Clinical Ophthalmology at the Washington University School of Medicine, also in St. Louis. In 2023 she served as Visiting Professor at Roche in Basel, Switzerland. She has been a principal investigator in more than 40 national clinical trials dealing with age-related macular degeneration, retinal vascular occlusion, and diabetic retinopathy. Her efforts in research have resulted in over 90 peer-reviewed publications, 22 book chapters, and more than 150 speaking invitations. She is one of a growing number of women “Key Opinion Leaders” in the retina space, having consulted for more than 30 companies from start-ups to big pharma.
