Dr. Neha Serrano is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in medical diseases of the retina and macula. She has presented at several national meetings and is particularly interested in age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal vascular diseases, and retinal imaging.
She graduated cum laude from Georgetown in 2007, after which she completed her internal medicine internship at the University of Chicago Medical Center. She returned to Washington, DC to complete her ophthalmology residency at the Georgetown University/Washington Hospital Center program. Her interest in the cross section between ophthalmology and internal medicine persisted throughout residency leading her to pursue a fellowship in Medical Retina at the Duke Eye Center. Her time at Duke solidified her interest in Medical Retina and she truly learned to treat and consider the whole patient during her training.
Since completing fellowship, Dr. Serrano has been working in private practice in Maryland, DC and Virginia. She strives to provide excellent patient care to her community. She is particularly passionate about patient education and looks forward to answering her patients’ questions about their retinal conditions.
