This interactive Zoom session will synthesize and debrief the structured agenda of the Clinical Trials Workshop at the Business of Retina 2026, spanning foundational principles of why and how to initiate clinical trials, the key roles within a high-functioning trial ecosystem (including PI, coordinator, CRO, and reading center), and advanced strategies for building and scaling successful programs; drawing directly from sessions on site initiation, budgeting and contracting, IRB navigation, patient recruitment, diversity in trials, and the integration of technology and AI tools, the panel will include workshop faculty and participants who will critically discuss the most impactful insights gained and how these can be translated into practical, high-yield strategies for establishing and optimizing clinical trial programs in real-world retina practice, with emphasis on execution, scalability, and avoidance of common failure points.
