Congress Begins Action on Reconciliation Package; Likely to Include Drug Pricing Policy

As Congress returns from its summer recess this week, key committees will begin crafting the policy details of the estimated $3.5 trillion budget reconciliation package aimed at expanding access to social safety net programs and curbing climate change. It is likely that drug pricing policy, such as Medicare price negotiation, will be included as a cost off-set. ASRS and the Alliance of Specialty Medicine are watching this process closely and will work to ensure these policies do not force physicians to obtain Part B drugs at a higher cost than Medicare reimburses.
