ASRS, Alliance Comment on Medicare Advantage, Medicare Prescription Drug Benefit Program Proposed Rule
ASRS and the Alliance submitted comments April 6th to the CMS on its Proposed Rule for CY 2021-22 Medicare Advantage (MA) Program. Among other comments on Part D and Quality Rating, we express deep concerns with proposals to codify certain specialties for purposes of network adequacy that exclude subspecialties, repeating our call for CMS to require use of Taxonomy Codes to calculate MA network adequacy. In addition, incentivizing MA plans to include more telehealth providers in their networks by offering bonus points is a laudable goal, but we urge CMS to ensure in-person services are prioritized in determining network adequacy.
