UnitedHealthcare Accelerates Nearly $2B in Payments to Support Providers
In a press release yesterday, UnitedHealth Group, through UnitedHealthcare (UHC) and Optum, announced it will provide nearly $2 billion in accelerate payments and financial support to help health care providers mitigate the financial pressures caused by the COVID-19 public health emergency. The accelerated claim payments to medical and behavioral care providers will apply to UHC’s fully insured commercial, Medicare Advantage and Medicaid businesses. UHC has also extended deadlines for the filing of claims for Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, and Individual and Group Market health plans.
