Ways and Means Committee Unanimously Passes Physician Fee Schedule Budget Neutrality Reform
Last week, the Provider Reimbursement Stability Act (H.R. 8163) advanced in Congress, passing the House Ways and Means Committee unanimously. This important step reflects growing recognition that Congress must address the Medicare physician fee schedule’s outdated budget neutrality policies, which have contributed to payment instability and cuts in recent years. ASRS thanks the members who contacted their representatives to help build support for this legislation. As this effort moves to the Senate, members should be prepared to reach out to their senators when the bill is introduced and urge action again.
