ASRS Reiterates Recommendation to Increase Medicare Pay in Comments to Senate Finance Committee
Last week, ASRS submitted comments to the Senate Finance Committee's recent bipartisan whitepaper on potential options for Medicare physician payment reform. In our comments, we reiterate our recommendations that Congress apply a permanent inflationary adjuster to the physician fee schedule conversion factor and modify the budget neutrality constraints that often lead to significant payment cuts. In addition, we continue to recommend Congress eliminate or significantly modify the MIPS program to be less burdensome and more clinically-relevant. ASRS is also signing on to joint statements from the Alliance of Specialty Medicine and the surgical coalition.
