I graduated from the University of Cambridge in 1998 and obtained my postgraduate Ophthalmology training in various teaching hospitals in London including Moorfields Eye Hospital . I am recognised as a specialist in the UK, Australia and Malaysia. I am Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (UK) and Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists. In the past, I have received numerous academic prizes during my undergraduate and postgraduate studies including the British High Commissioner's Award and West London Ophthalmic Research Medal. I carried out sub-specialist training in vitreoretinal surgery in Cheltenham, UK and the Royal Perth Hospital, Western Australia. I am on several international and national committees in the area of ophthalmology and have been invited world wide to speak on my expertise in retina diseases.

I have published more than 25 peer reviewed scientific papers and 2 book chapters. I am a regular reviewer for several international ophthalmology journals. I am also a member of the American Society of Retinal Specialists, European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons and American Academy of Ophthalmology. More recently, I was appointed to the Ophthalmology specialist accreditation committee of the Malaysian National Specialist Register. I am also a committee member of the Malaysian Society of Ophthalmology and was the recent scientific committee chairperson of the society's 3rd Annual Scientific Meeting. I am also on the scientific committee of the retina section of the Asia Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology (APAO) and the Asia Pacific Vitreoretinal Society (APVRS).

After 4 years in academic practice as Associate Professor at the University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, I am now in full time private practice at Sunway Medical Centre, Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. Please follow my personal blog for more information on my work and life :
