Description
The Duke AVS meeting is biannual and was initiated by the late Robert Machemer, MD over 40 years ago when he came to Duke as Chairman.
We are planning to have world-renowned speakers in the field of retina for this huge event and hope for fierce discussion with panels and debates that can resonate worldwide and help pave the way for future work to be done. Registration will be open to all retina physicians worldwide.
The 21st AVS will also be combined with our 5th Duke Fellows’ AVS (fAVS) meeting. The fAVS meeting is a yearly educational event for all North American and vitreoretinal surgical, medical retina, uveitis, and some international fellows. Extensive educational content includes medical and surgical panel discussions, surgical videos, and the unparalleled wet lab experience with access to some of the latest technology and cutting-edge procedures with one on one faculty/fellow interaction. Some of the invited faculty for the 21st AVS will also participate in the 5th fAVS. All the fellows will also be invited to be part of the 21st AVS that same weekend to interact with the faculty, be part and witness this historical meeting.
