Rich has been very nearsighted since childhood. He made his vision health a priority by getting regular eye exams and was educated on the risks of developing a retinal detachment because of his extreme nearsightedness, also known as high myopia.
During a family vacation, a curtain-like shadow slowly appeared in Rich's vision in one eye, and he knew he would need to see the retina specialist he had established a relationship with.
