Retina Surgeon

Minneapolis, Minnesota

Posted September 13, 2017

Retina Center of Minnesota is seeking to add a 5th retina surgeon to our retina surgery private practice with academic affiliation and longstanding dedication to clinical trials.

The Retina Center of Minnesota provides high quality medical and surgical retina care.  We are a well-respected, established practice for over 30 years.  Our central office is at Phillips Eye Institute Hospital.  With 10 ORs, a pharmacy, an inpatient unit, 5 retina surgery rooms, “eye only” nurses, and independent anesthesiologist team available at all times, the Phillips Eye Institute is the largest free-standing private eye hospital in the country.  The Phillips Eye Institute is controlled by physicians, who run the hospital and committees and is active in physician CME education and community education.

Having our central office in the Phillips Eye Institute makes everyday care of our patients seamless.  When we see a retinal detachment or endophthalmitis patient, we simply send the patient downstairs to the Phillips Eye Institute and the nurses take over and prepare the patient for outpatient or inpatient surgery.  The anesthesiologist blocks the patient and the OR calls us in our office when they are ready to go into the room.  Phillips Eye Institute is a premier surgical facility in terms of patient care and efficiency.

Our offices include 4 clinics within the greater Twin Cities and 3 satellite clinics that we each visit once or twice a month 1-2 hours away, serving patients from MN and parts of ND, SD, IA, and WI.  Teaching opportunities for the U of MN ophthalmology residents and retina fellow are available.  Average daily patient volume  is 40-70 patients per physician.

Great recreation, many lakes, biking, theatre, symphony, opera, professional sports teams, great restaurants, safe communities.  Minnesota and the Minneapolis/ St. Paul area have always received high rankings for great places to live due to the exceptional quality of life, lack of pollution, community safety and friendly family environment.
