DESCRIPTION:Hosted by the ASRS Empowerment & Opportunity Section\, this ses
 sion will explore the role of diversity\, equity\, and inclusion in shapin
 g supportive training environments\, strengthening professional collaborat
 ion\, and improving patient care across both academic institutions and pri
 vate practice settings.\nParticipants will examine how DEI principles infl
 uence mentorship\, recruitment\, professional development\, and leadership
  opportunities within ophthalmology. The program will highlight practical 
 strategies for recognizing barriers\, fostering inclusive clinical and edu
 cational environments\, and advocating for constructive change within depa
 rtments\, practices\, and professional organizations.\nFollowing the prese
 ntation\, participants in the Empowerment & Opportunity Mentorship Program
  will continue the conversation in small-group breakout rooms with their m
 entors and mentees. Attendees who are not part of the mentorship program a
 re warmly invited to join us for the presentation and will be asked to exi
 t the Zoom session when the breakout discussions begin.
