R.V. Paul Chan, MD, is the John H. Panton Professor in the Dept. of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary of the University of Illinois at Chicago. He is a graduate of the Temple University School of Medicine and completed his ophthalmology residency at the New York-Presbyterian Hospital, Weill Cornell Medical College. He completed a surgical retina fellowship at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Harvard Medical School.

Dr. Chan’s clinical focus is medical and surgical vitreoretinal disease with a particular interest in pediatric retinal disease and retinopathy of prematurity (ROP). His research interests include investigations into new methods to diagnose and manage pediatric retinal disease and ROP including the use of novel imaging techniques to educate physicians in the United States and internationally and improve our understanding of these conditions.

Justin Gottlieb, MD

Justin Gottlieb, MD, is a Professor in the Dept. of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the University of Wisconsin – Madison. He is a graduate of the Duke University School of Medicine and completed his ophthalmology residency at the Kellogg Eye Center at the University of Michigan, where he was also a Chief Resident. He completed a medical retina fellowship with Donald Gass at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute and a surgical retina fellowship at Wills Eye Hospital. His clinical interests include medical and surgical care of vitreoretinal disease. He has a special interest in clinical trials, including the current Diabetic Retinopathy Clinical Research Network, for which he is the Principal Investigator at the University of Wisconsin.
